Expert Witness Of The MKD Session Of The DPR RI: Public Insulted In Anonymous Account Narratives

JAKARTA - Social media expert witness Ismail Fahmi who was presented at the session held by the Honorary Council of the DPR RI, Monday, November 3, saw a shift in the narrative that allegedly occurred in a structured manner during a demonstration in front of the DPR RI Building last August.

The Joint Session of Requests for Witness Statements and Expert Opinions was held regarding a series of incidents after the MPR Annual Session on August 15, 2025, which dragged several names of DPR members such as Ahmad Sahroni, Adies Kadir, Uya Kuya, Eko Patrio, and Nafa Urbach.

"What we are analyzing is, we found that on August 10, there will indeed be a labor demonstration on the 25th (August). But I noticed that the 14th starts on TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, certain directions. How come this is not from workers, huh? Usually it starts to be directed to the DPR," said Ismail Fahmi at the DPR RI MKD trial, Monday, November 3.

Ismail Fahmi also said that the trend of the narrative of the DPR's demonstration jumped rapidly in the next few days, precisely from August 19 to August 25, 2025.

"So I see that there has been a sway of opinion from the start that has been created. By whose account? Yes, by anonymous accounts too, that's it. And it's like taking advantage of a moment," added Ismail Fahmi.

So in the future, Ismail Fahmi hopes that state institutions can pay more attention to wild issues that develop on social media.

"This is what we have to pay attention to in the future, when there is an issue that we feel doesn't fit, we have to clarify immediately," he continued.

As is known, there are five members of the Indonesian House of Representatives who have been declared inactive by their respective parties. Namely Adies Kadir, Ahmad Sahroni, Nafa Urbach, Surya Ula Uya Kuya, and Eko Hendro Purnomo alias Eko Patrio.

"Therefore, today the Honorary Court of the Council will ask for information from witnesses and experts to clarify the title of the case of a series of events that received public attention that occurred from August 15, 2025 to September 3, 2025," he said.
