The Mystery Of An Unidentified Body On Mount Ciremai, Allegedly Has Died A Week
KUNINGAN - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Kuningan Regency, West Java, confirmed the discovery of the body of an unidentified man in the peak area of Mount Ciremai, last Wednesday.
Head of BPBD Kuningan Indra Bayu said the report was received at around 16.30 WIB from the Smart Patrol team who was patrolling the Linggajati hiking trail, the Gunung Ciremai National Park (TNGC) area.
"It's true, the body of an unidentified man was found on the Linggajati hiking trail. We received initial information at around 16.30 WIB," said Indra in Kuningan, Antara, Thursday, October 30.
According to him, the body was found about 200 meters north of Puncak Linggajati, with coordinates of UTM 213937-9237251, and is estimated to have died more than a week.
"The victim is estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old and has been dead for about a week," he said.
Officers also found a number of items around the location, such as a cable terminal, clothes resembling a blue suit, and a sarong. However, no identity of the victim was found.
Following up on the report, a joint team from BPBD, Balai TNGC, Polri, TNI, and volunteer climbers immediately coordinated to prepare the evacuation process through the Linggajati route.
"Now it is being discussed technically for evacuation, starting from up and down routes, the equipment needed, to the implementation time," said Indra.
He explained that the terrain to the location was quite heavy because it was in a mountainous area with steep contours and meeting vegetation, so careful planning was needed before the evacuation process was carried out.
