Fathers Of Iranian Foreigners Perpetrators Of Theft In Nganjuk Deported By East Java Immigration
JAKARTA - The Class II Immigration Office of Non-TPI Kediri in East Java (East Java) deported two foreign nationals (foreigners) from Iran, for being involved in a criminal case in the form of theft in Nganjuk.
Head of the Kediri Non-TPI Class II Immigration Office, Antonius Frizky Saniscara Cahya Putra, revealed that the two Iranians were father and son with the initials ZAR and ER.
"The two Iranian citizens are known to have come to Indonesia using a visit visa," he said in Kediri, Wednesday.
He revealed that the first to come to Indonesia was ER, the son who came on January 21, 2025 through Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Jakarta and his father with the initials ZAR who followed on March 6, 2025 through Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali.
Based on the confessions of the two Iranian citizens, the purpose and purpose of his arrival is to take a vacation and conduct a business of buying and selling clothes to Iran.
The two Iranian citizens toured several areas in Indonesia, such as Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Magelang, Sukoharjo, Madiun, and several other places on the island of Java to the last in Nganjuk.
He added that they were reported for being involved in a criminal case. The reported criminal act in the form of theft occurred in the Nganjuk area around May 2025.
"This criminal act occurred in a shop and was viral on social media. After being reported by the victim to the authorities, the two Iranian citizens were arrested on May 19, 2025," he said.
He explained that their modus operandi was to purchase goods in shops or stalls, the role of the buyer was carried out by his father, ZAR.
After paying, the perpetrator ZAR will ask for a small bill or exchange small denominations. In this condition, the shopkeeper will be distracted and then the child with the initials ER will steal money in the cashier's drawer or take valuables on the cashier's desk.
They were arrested after a search by the authorities. The two Iranian citizens then underwent legal proceedings and underwent trials at the Nganjuk District Court.
Both were found guilty of violating Article 363 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code (KUHP) and Article 75 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration with decision Number: 216 / Pid.B / 2025 / PN NJK, these two Iranian citizens were sentenced to 5 (five) months in prison.

He added that after serving his sentence, the Nganjuk District Attorney handed over the handover to the Kediri Immigration Office. The two Iranian citizens were then investigated for further action.
Under the immigration law, every foreign citizen who violates the law in Indonesia can be subject to immigration administrative action in the form of deportation.
"For these two Iranian citizens, this deportation action is carried out after getting permanent legal force and after completing the criminal law," said Frizky.
Immigration Kediri, he said, had carried out escorts in the form of deportation and inclusion of his name on the deterrence list. Deportation measures through Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Jakarta with Garuda Indonesia airline with flight code GA900 on the Jakarta-Doha route and continued with the Doha-Tehran route.
He also appealed to the public, especially in the working area of the Kediri Immigration Office, namely in Kediri City, Kediri Regency, Nganjuk, and Jombang to report any violations committed by foreign nationals, especially immigration violations.
