Deputy Governor Riza Targets The Mutual Cooperation Vaccination In Jakarta Will Be Completed This Year

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, said that the government has provided a stock of 3.5 million vaccines specifically for workers in the Jabodetabek area.

Riza did not mention an exact figure on how many stocks of mutual cooperation vaccines were obtained by company employees in Jakarta. However, he said that this vaccination could help accelerate the vaccine program. DKI is targeting the mutual cooperation vaccination to be completed this year.

"Approximately 3.5 million targeted in Jabodetabek including DKI Jakarta is very helpful. Hopefully, we will achieve the target this year in Jakarta", said Riza in a virtual press conference, Wednesday, May 19.

Riza said that he was happy because the parties that participated in the mutual cooperation vaccination program were not only joined by middle and upper-class companies, but also by the MSME group.

"There is a lot of participation from the public or MSME entrepreneurs, even though we know that this program is not free. It shows that the enthusiasm of our people's care and attention from the economic aspect, from the entrepreneurial element is very high. Of course, we are very grateful", explained Riza.

Of the 22.736 companies that registered until the third stage, 7.000 came from MSMEs. This number is expected to continue to grow until it reaches 20 million private employees who are targeted by the government to be vaccinated against COVID-19. By doing so, Erick believes that the economic recovery will gradually return to a normal phase.

SOEs Minister Erick Thohir said he was happy because the mutual cooperation vaccination program prioritized MSMEs. Erick said that this sector is very important because MSMEs are the backbone of the Indonesian economy.

"I think MSMEs are a very important backbone for the Republic of Indonesia. It is impossible for our country not to involve MSMEs in the enforcement of balance rather than the economy to be sustainable", said Erick.

Vaccination for the MSME sector encourages government optimism that the country's economy will revive. Erick believes that the national economy will return to normal in 2022.

"Of course we hope that with the sustainability of MSMEs it can return to normalization of economic activity gradually. We are optimistic that next year our economy will return to normal", he said.
