Stafsus Pramono Reveals That The Jakarta LRT Route To JIS Is More Needed Than Dukuh Atas
JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government will re-develop the Jakarta LRT route after the construction of the 1B phase route with the Velodrome-Manggarai route.
It was revealed that the discourse of the Jakarta LRT was extended from Manggarai to the Dukuh Atas area. However, recently, the Jakarta LRT, which is now operating on the Velodrome-Kelapa Gading route, has been forwarded to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).
Special Staff to the Governor of DKI Jakarta for Development and City Planning, Nirwono Yoga, revealed that the route to JIS is considered more needed than the Dukuh Atas route which is already dense in mode of transportation.
"Later (the extension of the Jakarta LRT route) will be chosen where? To JIS, yes, not Manggarai-Dukuh Atas. Because in Manggarai-Dukuh Atas there are too many (modal) right? The KRL is there, Transjakartanya is there," Nirwono told reporters, Thursday, October 16.
Nirwono explained that the main consideration in determining the direction of the development of the Jakarta LRT is not only a matter of integration of the mode, but also the efficiency of the budget and economic impact.
With the limited regional development funds, the DKI Provincial Government must consider which routes provide wider benefits for priority.
"If we design transportation, we have to design a budget efficiency perspective. For example, there is Rp3 trillion in cash, for example. The money is actually more sufficient to build from Manggarai to Dukuh Atas or from Kelapa Gading to JIS? Well, that's calculated right," he explained.
According to him, the route to JIS has strategic value because it can encourage economic growth in the northern area of Jakarta, which has been marginalized from the city's activity center.
This city planning expert assessed that the northern area of Jakarta currently still needs priority so that the development and mobility of residents is not always centered in the central area.
"From JIS to Kelapa Gading, it means that the first place will encourage economic growth in the north, yes. Continue to distribute movement," said Nirwono.
"Meanwhile, when we talked about Manggarai-Dukuh Atas, the economic growth was stagnant, but when we spoke north, we instead received distribution of economic growth to the north," he said.
Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung opened a discourse to extend the Jakarta Kelapa Gading-Velodrome LRT route on the north side. Pramono claims to have submitted a plan to add the Jakarta LRT route to the central government.
"We will soon make, and the project has been approved, the Jakarta LRT from Velodrome-Kelapa Gading, (towards) Tanjung Priok, then to JIS, to Ancol, and later to PIK 2," said Pramono at Grand Hyatt, Central Jakarta, Friday, October 10.
Pramono assessed that mobility access to the north of Jakarta, especially to JIS, has been a complaint by the public because of the limited transportation routes to the public.
In fact, the DKI Provincial Government is projecting that one of the activities centers in Jakarta will be in the international standard stadium.

"Indeed, we admit that for the north compared to the central and southern regions, the congestion that has occurred is quite severe. We have now officially conveyed, discussed, conveyed to open a new route. Now it is under management," explained Pramono.
