SMAN 1 Cimarga Banten Teacher Who Slapped Students Because Smoking Stubborn Was Deactivated

BANTEN - Head of SMAN 1 Cimarga, Lebak Regency, Banten, was deactivated by the local government after allegations of violence against students that led to a learning strike of hundreds of students.

The Head of SMA for the Banten Province Education and Culture Office (Dindikbud) Adang Abdurrahman said that his party hopes that teaching and learning activities (KBM) will return to normal starting Wednesday, October 15.

"We hope that tomorrow all students will return to implementing KBM at school," said Adang while reviewing SMAN 1 Cimarga, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, October 14.

He emphasized that the Banten Dindikbud prioritized the recovery of learning activities, especially for class XII students who were preparing for the college entrance exam.

This case stems from the study strike of hundreds of students on Monday, October 13. They protested the actions of the Principal Dini Fitria who allegedly slapped one of the class XII students, Indra Lutfiana Putra (17), for being caught smoking in the school environment.

Adang added, during the investigation, the KBM continued to run online.

"We ask all students to return to study, and for the problems of the disabled principal, an examination is currently being carried out," he said.

The same thing was conveyed by the teacher of SMAN 1 Cimarga Yuyun, who confirmed that the temporary KBM was carried out online by following the lesson schedule as usual.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Kosim Ansori School Committee said that his party had coordinated with parents and asked children to immediately return to school.

"We are quite concerned about this condition. We together with Dindikbud Banten, parents of students, and the school are trying to solve this problem. Moreover, the principal has been deactivated," said Kosim.
