KPK Summons Ex-Corruption Convict Head Of PU Papua Related To Corruption Operational Funds Rp1.2 T

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has scheduled an examination of Mikael Kambuaya as the former Head of the Papua Province Public Works Service (PU) today, October 14.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said Mikael was being investigated for alleged corruption in operational support funds and programs to improve official services for regional heads and deputy regional heads of the Papua Provincial Government.

The former convict in the corruption case of the Kemiri 'Depapre road improvement project in Papua in the 2015 APBD was questioned along with four other witnesses.

The four witnesses are Lusi Kusuma Dewi who is a housewife, Nurlia Lulu Fitriyani as Branch Operational Manager of Bank Mandiri; Komang Susyawati who is a Private Employee; and a property agent named Ita Sari Mutiana S. Abas.

"The examination was carried out at the KPK's Merah Putih building," Budi told reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, October 14.

Budi has not yet detailed the material for the examination of the five witnesses. However, they are suspected of knowing the corrupt practices that are being handled.

"Today, the KPK has scheduled witness examinations related to the alleged bribery of the Operational Support Fund and the Educational Service Improvement Program for Regional Heads and Deputy Regional Heads of the Papua Provincial Government," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK investigated allegations of corruption in the abuse of authority related to the Operational Supporting Fund and Program for the Improvement of Official Services for Regional Heads and Deputy Regional Heads of the Papua Provincial Government. State losses due to this reckless practice are said to have reached Rp1.2 trillion.

There is already one suspect named by the anti-corruption commission. He is DE who is the Treasurer of the Expenditure of the Regional Head of Papua Province.
