The Minister Of Home Affairs Asks Local Governments To Actively Carry Out PBG And BPHTB Liberation Socialization
JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian emphasized the importance of the role of local governments in disseminating information on the release of the approval of Building Building Approval (PBG) and Building Rights Obtainment Fee (BPHTB) for low-income people. This policy is expected to help residents realize decent houses without being burdened with administrative costs. Tito asked that socialization be carried out down to the sub-district and sub-district levels so that the benefits of the program are truly felt by small communities.
"It needs to be conveyed later by the regional government, municipal governments, sub-district heads, village heads, all going down, the Settlement and Housing Offices also going down, explaining the facilities for not paying PBG and BPHTB for low-income people," said the Minister of Home Affairs, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, October 11.
This was conveyed by the Minister of Home Affairs while reviewing the Public Service Mall (MPP) of Medan City, North Sumatra (North Sumatra) with the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait.
On that occasion, the Minister of Home Affairs highlighted the low use of PBG exemption facilities for MBR in Medan City compared to other areas.
"The information is because the land here is expensive. But in other big cities such as Jakarta, Bandung, Bogor, Surabaya, the land is also expensive, but there are low-income people who take advantage of PBG facilities that do not pay for it," he said.

The Minister of Home Affairs explained that the exemption from PBG and BPHTB levies for MBR is a form of government attention to ease the burden on people in owning houses, both new development and renovation.
"Among them are indeed policies so that house prices become cheap, whether for new development or renovation by developers, or by themselves, especially low-income people," said the Minister of Home Affairs.
According to him, many people do not understand the definition of MBR and various incentives that have been prepared by the government.
BPHTB, Obtainment of Land and Building Rights, zero. PBG, formerly called IMB (Building Permit) was also zero for low-income people," he said.
This policy is expected to reduce the price of houses and encourage access to decent housing for the community. However, the Minister of Home Affairs assessed that there are still many residents who do not know about this facility.
"Perhaps many don't know if there are these conveniences, this policy. That's how we ask the government to socialize, then the media also has this opportunity to please disseminate it to the public," said Tito.
