Promise Of Heaven In People's Country, 15 Members Of TIP Syndicate At Soekarno-Hatta Airport Become Suspects

TANGERANG - Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police (Soetta), Polda Metro Jaya, has named 15 members of a syndicate of people trafficking crimes (TPPO) as suspects in the case of sending prospective non-procedural Indonesian migrant workers (CPMI) abroad.

Soetta Airport Police Chief Kombes Ronald Sipayung said the suspects consisted of six women with the initials NH, EM, N, AES, DN, and MW, as well as nine men with the initials PN, MR, EAH, DS, DI, YP, U, AM, and AM bin M.

"They were arrested after the police uncovered the practice of sending illegal CPMIs to various countries," Ronald said at a press conference in Tangerang, Antara, Thursday, October 9.

Ronald mengungkapkan, pihaknya juga masih memburu 24 orang lainnya yang telah ditetapkan dalam daftar pencarian orang (DPO).

The suspects are said to be luring the victims with promises of work abroad such as household assistants, plantation workers, online gambling admins, restaurant employees, to scamming.

"The promised destination countries include Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Oman, Singapore, Laos, China, South Korea, and Taiwan," he said.

Ronald appealed to the public to always follow the official procedures for placing migrant workers set by the government for the safety and protection of the law in the destination country.

Meanwhile, Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Soetta Airport Police, Kompol Yandri Mono, explained that the case began with public reports that were followed up with investigations and investigations.

"From January to October 2025, the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police have prevented the departure of 688 non-procedural CPMIs," said Yandri.

He added that from July to October 2025 his party had named 39 suspects in the TIP case, with details of 14 detained, one having stages II, and 24 having DPO status.

The evidence confiscated included two CPMI delivery cars, passports, boarding passes, plane tickets, cellphones, and ATM cards.

The suspects were charged with Article 83 in conjunction with Article 68 and/or Article 81 in conjunction with Article 69 of Law Number 18 of 2017 concerning the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers, as well as Article 4 of Law Number 21 of 2007 concerning TIP.

"The penalty is a minimum of three years and a maximum of 15 years in prison, as well as a fine of between Rp. 120 million to Rp. 600 million," said Yandri.
