Immigration Brush 229 Foreigners In Jabodetabek, Majority Violate Stay Permits
JAKARTA - The Directorate General (Ditjen) of Immigration has taken firm action against hundreds of foreign nationals (WNA) who are active in the Jabodetabek area. A total of 229 foreigners were caught in the Wirawas Operation which was held on October 3, 2025. As a result, the majority of them were indicated to have committed serious immigration violations.
Plt. The Director General of Immigration, Yuldi Yusman, stated that this operation is a form of the government's commitment to ensure that only quality foreigners can live and carry out activities in Indonesia.
"This strict supervision is a form of the government's commitment to ensure that only quality foreigners are active in Indonesia," said Yuldi Yusman in his statement, Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
Majority Of Violations: Abuse Of Stay Permits
Of the total 229 foreigners examined, Immigration recorded a fairly high number of violations, namely 196 foreigners indicated violating immigration rules. The most dominant violation was the misuse of residence permits, reaching 99 cases.
"Of the 229 foreigners who were caught, we found that most of the violations were misuse of residence permits. The number reached 99 cases or around 43.2 percent of the total violations," Yuldi explained.
In addition to the misuse of residence permits, other types of violations found include 20 cases of overstay, 11 cases of fictitious investors and nine cases of fictitious sponsorship.

Nigeria Dominates Violators List
In this Wirawaspa operation in Jabodetabek, foreigners from Nigeria were recorded as citizens with the highest number of violators, namely 82 people or the equivalent of 35.8 percent of the total foreigners being examined. Followed by foreigners from India (28 people) and Spain (21 people).
The Class I Immigration Office for the South Jakarta TPI is the most productive work unit in this operation by capturing 65 foreigners.
"Supervision carried out by the Directorate General of Immigration ensures that only quality foreigners can live and carry out activities in Indonesia," said Yuldi.
Immigration Also Brushes Fictitious PMAs, Hundreds Of NIBs In Bali Revoked
Yuldi added that the focus of the Wirawaspada Operation is not only on individual foreigners, but also on legal entities that become guarantors, especially fictitious Foreign Investment companies (PMA).
According to him, this decisive step has been proven previously, where Immigration found 12 problematic PMA companies in Batam. Even in Bali, as many as 267 PMAs were revoked their Business Identification Numbers (NIBs) because they did not fulfill the required investment commitments.
