JAKARTA - South Korean media OSEN reported that on Tuesday, May 18, YG Entertainment's agency is preparing a new girl group that will debut this year.

The number of members and the name of the group is not yet known, but the group will have the same vocal quality as the seniors.

On the same day, a source from the agency confirmed the news. “It's true that we are preparing to debut a new girl group".

YG Entertainment has made a similar statement in 2020, but nothing has been confirmed to date.

2NE1 became the first girl group to be founded by YG Entertainment. During their career, they became one of the most popular groups in South Korea. Unfortunately, they decided to disband in 2016 as the 2NE1 members' contracts ended.

Then, YG Entertainment presented BLACKPINK which debuted in 2016. Within five years, they set various records and achievements, placing BLACKPINK as a successful third-generation group.
