Will Check All Himbaras, Purbaya Affirms IDR 200 T Funds Don't Buy Valas
JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadive opened his voice regarding the evaluation of the distribution of funds amounting to Rp200 trillion to the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara).
"I went to BNI 2 days ago to see how they used the funds. Actually it's their own business," he said at a press conference, Thursday, October 2.
He emphasized that the main thing that the government is concerned about is ensuring that the funds are not used to buy foreign currency, especially the US dollar.
"What I'm guarding is not to buy the money, use it to buy dollars, so I give money to reduce the rupiah. So I ask them, whether they buy dollars or not. It turns out that the luck is not. But later I will check again. I will check again Bang Himbara others like that," he explained.
Purbaya emphasized that the disbursement of the Rp200 trillion fund was fully handed over to the banking sector.

"How do they distribute it, I leave it to them. Because they are more expert in detection and calculating projects that benefit or have good prospects. So I am not responsible for it depending on them," he said.
He likens the role of the Government in this regard to a depositor or customer who stores money in a bank.
"Saya hanya seperti deposan atau nasabah Bank beruluh uang di bank kira-kirakan. Nanti bank yang berluarkan. Jadi saya menggunakan kepada mereka untuk menyalurkan uang yang saya punya," ucapnya.
