Peace Cartenz: KKB Shot Dead Victim In Asmat Not TNI/Polri Member

Head of Operations for the Cartenz Peace Task Force Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani confirmed that Indra Guru Wardana, a victim of an armed criminal group (KKB) shooting in Kolf Braza District, Asmat Regency, South Papua, was not a member of the TNI or Polri.

"The victim who was shot by the KKB on Sunday (September 21) is a civilian who lives in Urakin Village, Kolf Braza District, Asmat Regency," said Faizal Rahmadani in Jayapura, Thursday, as reported by Antara.

Faizal said the victim did live with his family, including his parents who work as a teacher who also live in the village.

"Because of that, it is not true that the victims are members of the TNI or Polri as narrated by the KKB," said Faizal.

He added, based on the report he received, it was suspected that Yahukimo shot to death Indra Guru Wardana also burned the victim's house.

The six perpetrators carried one long-barreled weapon.

"Kampung Urakin, is located quite far from the Suator Police and is also constrained by communication so that we are still collecting complete data regarding the incident," said Faizal.

As a result of the attack carried out by the KKB, the paramedics and teachers who served in the Kolf Braza District and Suator District fled to Agats, the capital of Asmat Regency.
