Instagram's Anyar Feature Can Upload Photos On Computer

JAKARTA - Since its launch in 2010, Instagram only offers its services for smartphones. Indeed, users can already access it through a laptop or PC. It's just that the features are limited. And based on recent reports, that condition will change.

Based on the findings of app developer and analyst Alessandro Paluzzi, Instagram is known to be expanding a feature that allows users to submit uploads from desktop websites. In an image shared via Twitter, Paluzzi reveals how the '+' button is located in the navigation section.

Like the process of uploading photos via mobile phone, uploading photos or videos via desktop is also divided into several steps. Starting from selecting photos, resizing photos, editing photos with filters, adding captions, linking other accounts, adding location information, and much more.

How to Post Instagram Via Desktop

Paluzzi's test results, it was found that when the user clicks the button, a new window will appear where the user can upload a photo or video. There is also a feature that allows users to set the image size. It consists of Square (1:1), Portrait (4:5), and Landscape (16:9).

In the next window, users can choose which filters can be applied to the photo. Then, a new upload screen will appear where users can add captions, link other accounts, add location information, hashtags, and post buttons.

Still Internal Trials

It is still unknown the exact number of users who access Instagram via desktop. However, this leak, coupled with the addition of new features for the desktop version of Instagram that has been launched before, emphasizes how this version is starting to get a lot of users.

Therefore, this is arguably the feature that has been long-awaited by Instagram users who are used to accessing the platform through the desktop. Especially those of you who are active in making Instagram a productive line for business.

However, Paluzzi reminded, this feature is still in the process of internal trials. That is, it is still limited to companies only.

It is also uncertain whether this feature allows users to upload IG Stories, Reels, or IGTV content. In addition, it is still not predictable when the company will launch this feature.

To be sure, this leak hints at the ease that Instagram users and social media managers will get. Those who are more accustomed to accessing the platform via desktop because of their productive needs.
