157 Residents Affected By Floods In Seruyan, Central Kalimantan, Water Level Reaches 1 Meter
JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that floods that hit a number of villages in Seruyan Regency, Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan) were still submerging residential areas with a water level of almost one meter.
Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari said the flood was triggered by the overflow of the river due to heavy rains that flushed the area since September 19.
Based on the local BPBD report, the water level varies from five to almost one meter which has disrupted the local community's socio-economic activities.
"A total of 123 families or 157 people were affected by the floods that they spread across seven villages in Seruyan Hulu, Suling Tambon, Seluluk Lake, Batu Ampar, and Seruyan Tengah sub-districts," he said in Jakarta, Thursday, was confiscated by Antara.
However, he ensured that the Seruyan Regency BPBD rapid reaction team had gone to the field to ensure the basic needs of the community, and deal with infrastructure damage.
"The basic needs of the affected communities are all met and the damage is immediately handled properly," he said.
