Kejari Cecar 24 Questions Former Tanjungpinang Mayor Rahma In The Market Project Corruption Case

The Prosecutor's Office conducted an examination of the former Tanjungpinang Mayor (Walkot) for the 2020-2023 period, Rahma, regarding the alleged corruption case in the construction of the Tanjungpinang Friendly Puan market.

"That's right. Mayor Rahma has been questioned regarding the alleged corruption currently being handled by the Tanjungpinang Kejari," said Head of the Tanjungpinang District Attorney's Office (Kejari) Rachmad Surya Lubis at his office, Thursday, during a statement.

Rachmad said the Mayor of Tanjungpinang Rahma fulfilled the summons of investigators for the Special Crimes (Pidsus) of the Kejari on Wednesday, September 24, morning and evening with 24 questions being asked by the investigative team.

According to him, Rahma is a witness. A total of 26 witnesses have been examined in the alleged corruption in the development of the Tanjungpinang Friendly Puan market.

"All of them are still witnesses. There has been no determination of suspects," he said.

Rachmad did not answer further when asked about the material on the alleged corruption in the market development in the Kijang Lama area, because it was in the realm of investigation.

The Tanjungpinang Kejari has dispatched a team of construction experts to check the market development.

"The results are like what we don't know, including whether or not there is a state loss to the alleged corruption," he said.

Puan Market is friendly with the Tanjungpinang City Government in 2022, by costing around Rp. 3 billion. The goal is to temporarily accommodate traders in Tanjungpinang New Market who were being revitalized at that time.

The current condition of Puan Friendly Market, which is located right at the Tanjungpinang Disdukcapil Office, is abandoned without residents.
