Government Prepares Breakthrough To Accelerate Agrarian Reform, Here's The Strategy

JAKARTA - Minister of Forestry (Menhut) Raja Juli Antoni ensured that the government is committed to accelerating the implementation of agrarian reforms through cross-ministerial/institutional cooperation (K/L).

"Essentially I agree, there needs to be inter-sectoral institutions to unravel the deadlock we have experienced so far in this agrarian reform process," said Minister of Forestry Raja Antoni in his statement in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, September 25.

According to the Minister of Transportation, cross-sectoral institutions are expected to bridge policy makers to follow up on resolving agrarian conflicts that have been protracted.

In addition, there are a number of recommendations that have emerged, including the establishment of the Agrarian Reform Implementing Agency, the One Map policy, and the establishment of a Special Committee (Pansus) for the resolution of agrarian conflicts.

The day before, Wednesday (24/9), the Ministry of Transportation together with the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/BPN, the Ministry of State Secretariat, the Ministry of Villages and PDT, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of SOEs, the Consortium for Agrarian Reform (KPA), and several community organizations held meetings to accelerate the implementation of agrarian reform with leaders and members of Commission IV DPR RI.

The meeting, chaired by the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, became a forum to listen to input from KPA and community organizations to accelerate agrarian reform and resolve conflicts.

Some of the input submitted by KPA and people's organizations include corrections to the inequality of land distribution, resolution of agrarian conflicts, and economic development at 1.7 million hectares of the KPA Agrarian Reform Priority Location (LPRA).

Selain itu, muncul pula usulan pembentukan Badan Pelaksana Reforma Agraria dan Panitia Khusus DPR RI guna mempercepat reforma agraria dan penyelesaian konflik agraria.
