14 Houses Damaged By South OKU Flash Floods, 2 Units Carried Away By The Current
JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that 14 houses of residents of Tanjung Harapan Village, Sindang Danau District, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency (OKU) Selatan, South Sumatra, were damaged by flash floods.
Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division of the South OKU BPBD, Heri Pramono, said that of the 14 houses, they were swept away by the current.
"Based on the results of the latest data collection, 14 housing units were recorded to have been heavily and lightly damaged due to being hit by flash floods," he said in Muaradua, Tuesday, as reported by Antara.
He said the high rainfall that occurred on Tuesday morning at around 02.00 WIB caused flash floods to hit dozens of houses in the area.
In fact, the incident caused three local residents to die after being dragged by the swift currents of flash floods.
"The victim who died is a family who lives in a house that is lost by the current," he said.

After a search was carried out, he said, victims on behalf of border and Sur were found at around 10.30 WIB in the Big Water River or a few kilometers from the scene.
Meanwhile, the victim Lina Binti Dupi was found at 11.15 WIB in Sungai Are or about 14 kilometers from her house that was swept away.
In addition to swallowing lives and washing away residents' houses, the flood also damaged a number of public facilities and cut off access to village roads so that dozens of residents were forced to flee to safer places.
The village government together with BPBD South OKU have established emergency posts and public kitchens to meet the food and logistics needs of the refugees.
"Currently, our team has established an emergency post at the location so that people affected can immediately receive assistance," he said.
