Pretrial Rudy Tanoe Decided Today, KPK Believes Objective Judge

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) believes that the South Jakarta District Court (PN) Panel of Judges will decide on the pretrial lawsuit filed by Bambang Rudijanto Tanoesoedibjo or Rudy Tanoe objectively.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said that his party as the respondent had conveyed the basis for determining the brother of media entrepreneur Hary Tanoesoedibjo before the panel of judges when the pretrial hearing was held.

Rudy is known to have sued the anti-corruption commission because he was named a suspect in distributing rice social assistance to beneficiary families (KPM) of the Family Hope Program (PKH) for the 2020 Fiscal Year.

"Let's wait for the verdict. We are sure that the judge will decide objectively and independently," Budi told reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, September 23.

"The KPK as the respondent has submitted its answers and explanations regarding the formal aspects in the process of investigating cases of alleged corruption related to the distribution of rice social assistance for beneficiary families (KPM) of the Family Hope Program (PKH) FY 2020," he continued.

Budi also ensured that the investigation had been carried out in accordance with statutory provisions. No rules were violated.

"Including the determination of the suspect, the KPK has acted professionally and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations," he said.

Meanwhile, Rudy's pretrial lawsuit is registered at the South Jakarta District Court with case number: 102/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL. The President Commissioner of PT Dosni Roha Logistics sued the KPK cq led by the KPK.

The inaugural trial was held on Thursday, September 4. The trial with the agenda of summoning the respondent or the KPK has been held on Monday, September 15.

In his petitum, Rudy asked the sole judge of the South Jakarta District Court to declare that the KPK's action to establish himself as a suspect was an arbitrary act because it was not in accordance with the procedure and was against the law. He asked the KPK to determine the suspect without binding legal force.

Apart from Rudy, the KPK also appointed Edy Suharto as the former Director General of Social Empowerment of the Ministry of Social Affairs and now serves as an expert staff of the Minister of Social Affairs for Changes and Social Dynamics and Kanisius Jerry Tengker who is the President Director of PT Dosni Roha Logistics for 2020-2022.
