Turkey Now Has 85 Cultural Assets As A UNESCO World Heritage

JAKARTA - Turkey's Ministry of Culture and Tourism says two cultural assets have been added to UNESCO's temporary world heritage list. Thus Turkey now has 85 cultural assets as a world heritage.

Visiting Yeni Safak, Monday, May 10, two cultural assets were included including the historic city of Kemaliye in eastern Erzincan Province and the late mid-medieval Antique Church of Midyat.

Historically, the historic city of Kemaliye has been an important trading center for a long time. Moreover, the city is included in the world's silk road route.

More interestingly, the city is also blessed with unique natural elements. Mainly, related to the discovery of traces of ancient Turkish ancestors that can be found in the Dilli Valley, Northwest Kemaliye.

Meanwhile, the Midyat area has become a world tourist destination because it presents examples of monastic architecture. Where its construction activities have existed since the beginning of the orthodox Christian period still leads Turkey.
