Riau Police Chief Leads Akbar Satkamling Green Policing Apple

JAKARTA - Riau Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryyawan emphasized that the Environmental Security Unit (Satkamling) is at the forefront of supporting the Green Policing program, which is currently the new face of the Riau Police.

This was conveyed while leading the 2025 Satkamling Green Policing Akbar Apple which was centered in Dumai City, Wednesday, September 17.

In his mandate, the man who is often called Herimen stated that the role of Satkamling is not only limited to maintaining environmental security, but must also be a symbol of concern for nature's sustainability.

"Satkamling must be present not only as a security guard for the village, but also a guard for life. We want to provide ecological security, which protects humans as well as nature and their environment," said Inspector General Herry.

In addition, Herry also emphasized that this apple is a momentum to strengthen communication, collaboration, and synergy between the Police, the community, and all stakeholders.

The concept of Green Policing initiated by the Riau Police places environmental security and ecological justice as a priority.

"We are building a new paradigm, the police are here to protect tuah, maintain marwah, as well as provide ecological justice," he said.

In the grand apple attended by thousands of participants from Dumai City, Rokan Hilir Regency, and Siak Regency, the Riau Police Chief emphasized the importance of active community involvement through Pam Swakarsa with simple principles, we take care of us, we for us.

Herry emphasized that the role of Bhabinkamtibmas, Babinsa, and the Head of RW is said to be very important in mobilizing citizen participation in maintaining togetherness-based security.

Not to forget, all elements are invited to continue to synergize and maintain the spirit of togetherness in creating a safe, orderly, as well as sustainable environment.

"With all of us together, God willing, thanks to the help of Allah SWT, Riau will be safer, more advanced, and green," he said.

Meanwhile, the Dirbinmas of the Riau Police, Kombes Eko Budhi, added that the existence of Satkamling is clear evidence of community participation in a modern and sustainable security system.

Satkamling is not just a guard post, but a center of social interaction that strengthens the sense of togetherness. Through Satkamling, we encourage people to respond quickly to potential vulnerabilities as well as care about the surrounding environment," he said.

The Satkamling Green Policing Akbar Apple in Dumai was also attended by the Deputy Chief of Riau Police, Irwasda Riau Police, the main officials of the Riau Police, Danlanal Dumai represented by the Dandenpom Lanal Dumai Marine Major (PM) Saparudin.

Then there are also the Mayor of Dumai, the Regent of Rohil, the Regent of Siak, the Dumai Police Chief, the Rohil Police Chief, the Siak Police Chief, the heads of OPD, the sub-district head, village heads throughout Dumai City, as well as elements of the TNI, Polri, Satpol PP, Fire Department, Senkom, and all Satkamling officers from the three areas.

In closing, the grand apple was marked by the simultaneous beating of bamboo bagging by apple participants.
