Charlie Kirk's Murder Suspect Threatened With Death Penalty In Utah
United States Attorney General Pam Bondi has stated that conservative activist Charlie Kirk, Tyler Robinson, will be charged with first-degree murder and potentially facing execution in Utah State.
They will charge him for first-degree murder. Legally it is too early to decide, but the governor has said they want the death penalty, which is still in effect in Utah," Bondi said in an interview with Fox News quoted by Sputnik, Tuesday, September 16.
Bondi added that Utah still has a firing squad to carry out the execution of the death penalty. The indictment against the suspect is planned to be filed this week.
According to Bondi, the suspect's DNA was found on the murder weapon at the scene. The US Department of Justice can also file a federal charge against the perpetrators if deemed necessary to hold full responsibility.
At the same time, the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said the suspect had admitted his actions in a written statement and had previously disclosed his intention to commit the crime.
