Government Launches 8 2025 Economic Acceleration Programs

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said President Prabowo Subianto had approved the launch of eight development acceleration programs by 2025.

Airlangga said that the total budget allocated for the implementation of the eight programs reached Rp. 16.23 trillion.

"Earlier there was a meeting with the President and a meeting with the President discussed the policies to be taken which were named the Economic Package Program in 2025," Airlangga said at a press conference, Monday, September 15.

Meanwhile, Airlangga explained that there are eight programs that will be run in 2025, namely first, a fresh graduate internship program aimed at graduates of universities a maximum of one year after graduation (both S1 and D3), participants will be placed in the relevant industry and receive pocket money equivalent to the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) for six months.

The government is targeting 20,000 participants with an allocation of funds of IDR 198 billion.

Second, income tax incentives (PPh) 21 are borne by the Government (DTP) where this policy was expanded in scope, from previously only labor-intensive sectors, now covering the tourism, hospitality, restaurant, and cafe (Horeka) sector. This program targets 552,000 workers with funds of IDR 120 billion.

Next are the three food aids where the Government will continue to distribute 10 kg of rice per month for October and November 2025, with a budget of IDR 7 trillion and its implementation will be re-evaluated for the December period.

Furthermore, the four BPJS Ketenagakerjaan subsidies where due subsidies are given to informal workers such as online motorcycle taxi drivers, couriers, drivers, and logistics personnel.

Airlangga said as many as 731,361 people would receive a 50 percent discount for Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Security (JKM) with a total fund of Rp 36 billion.

He conveyed that the protection provided includes compensation for death up to 48 times the wages, compensation for defects remains 56 times the wages, and a maximum scholarship of Rp. 174 million for two children with a total benefit of Rp. 42 million.

Airlangga conveyed the fifth, namely the additional benefits of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan housing where this program provides interest relaxation for KPR/KPA to 1,050 housing units.

The government allocated Rp150 billion in funds. Interest relaxation from the previous BI rate of 6 percent will be reduced to 4 percent.

"It can be for installments of houses, it can be for down payments, and also for developers who were previously BI rate plus 6 percent, it was also reduced to 4 percent," he said.

Next is the cash-intensive (cash for work) program which will be implemented by the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Public Works during the period September 2025, with a target of 609,465 beneficiaries and a total budget of IDR 5.3 trillion.

Seventh, the decregulation acceleration program, namely the Government encourages the acceleration of the integration of the Ministry/Institutions system and the alignment of the Detailed Spatial Plan (RDTR) with the OSS system, through the revision of PP 28.

Selanjutnya terakhir yaitu proyek percontohan perkotaan di DKI Jakarta dimana program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas permukiman serta menyediakan ruang kerja bagi pelaku gig economy.

Airlangga menyampaikan pendanaan berasal dari Pemprov DKI Jakarta dan Kemenparekraf, dengan total anggaran Rp2,7 triliun.

Furthermore, the last one is an urban pilot project in DKI Jakarta where this program aims to improve the quality of settlements and provide work space for gig economy actors.

Airlangga said that the funding came from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, with a total budget of IDR 2.7 trillion.
