Lexus Follows Toyota Recall Thousands Of Car Units, This Is The Affected Model

JAKARTA - The Philippine Lexus made a recall or recall for the LM model, LS due to problems with the digital instrument cluster. A total of 1,172 units were affected.

Quoting from the Autoindustrya page, Thursday, September 11, a few days ago the Philippine Toyota Motor (TMP) also announced the recall for 3,416 vehicles due to problems with their digital measuring tools. The withdrawal affected four Toyota models, which included Alphard, Camry, Corolla, and Corolla Cross.

Meanwhile, according to the Philippine Lexus, the recall special service campaign will include reproducing or replacing digital gauge tools on certain Lexus models.

In the Philippine market, special service campaigns affected a total of 1,172 vehicles, with Lexus LM taking the lion's share of the recall, at 1,148 units. Also part of the recall are 24 units Lexus LS 500 and 500h.

The affected Lexus model is equipped with a combination meter system that shows a wide range of information, such as warning lights, indicators, and vehicle gauges, on 12.3-inch instrument panels.

Due to programming errors, the system will repeatedly store unnecessary data, which will cause memory to run out faster than expected. This can result in the screen not turning on, which is not ideal while driving.

The Philippine Toyota Motor will notify affected customers via an Official Notification Letter and will be invited by an official Lexus dealer to replant or replace the combination meter system at no cost to vehicle owners.

However, the company wants to reiterate that the software for reprogramming and replacement parts for special service campaigns is currently unavailable, and is expected to be ready in October 2025 or later.

Once repair parts are available, customers with vehicles that are part of the withdrawal are highly recommended to immediately make an appointment with the official Lexus dealer to make the necessary repairs.
