Concrete Embankment In Cilincing Sea Potentially Disrupts Fishermen, Pramono Will Call PT KCN
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung opened his voice about the existence of a concrete embankment in the marine waters of the Cilincing area, North Jakarta. The emergence of this embankment is in the spotlight on social media because it is feared that it will disturb fishermen in looking for fish.
Later, it was discovered that this embankment was built by PT Karya Citra Nusantara (KCN), a port business entity that operates a public terminal at Marunda Port, North Jakarta.
PT KCN is a joint venture between PT KBN (BUMN) with a share proportion of 15 percent and PT KTU (private) of 85 percent. A total of 25.85 percent of PT KBN is also owned by the DKI Provincial Government.
In the near future, Pramono said that the DKI Provincial Government would summon PT KCN to discuss this issue. Pramono will ask the fishermen's livelihood space not to be disturbed from the company's activities.
"I have asked the relevant agencies to immediately invite the company and guarantee that PT Karya Cipta Nusantara must provide access to fishermen who are active in the place," said Pramono in Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, Thursday, September 11.
Pramono emphasized that it was not the DKI Provincial Government that issued the approval permit for the Compliance of Marine Spatial Utilization Activities (PKKPRL) for the construction of the concrete embankment. The permit was issued by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP).
"This is the authority of the Ministry of KKP which is given to PT Karya Cipta Nusantara," said Pramono.
However, the former Cabinet Secretary claimed that the DKI Provincial Government would pay attention to the sustainability of fishermen from the activities of PT KCN, as a port business entity that operates the public terminal at Marunda Port.
"The most important thing for the DKI Jakarta government is that the fishermen must not be disturbed by their activities in that place," he explained.
Social media was shocked by a concrete embankment in the coastal area of the Cilincing area, North Jakarta. The existence of the embankment was recorded in a video uploaded to the Instagram account @cilinginfo.
The video was recorded by a fisherman from the boat. You can see concrete with a length of 2 to 3 kilometers which seems to divide the waters on the north coast of Jakarta. The fisherman revealed that he had to go long to go to the ocean in order to find fish.
"The concrete embankment on the Cilincing Coast makes it difficult for coastal fishermen to pass. There are approximately 23 kilometers long. Initially, the crossing between fishermen made it difficult to find fish because they had to turn far away from the concrete embankment," said a fisherman in the video.
