Members Of The North Cikarang Police Release The Perpetrators Of Theft Processed By The Metro Police Bidpropam

The Bekasi Metropolitan Police arrested a motorcycle thief after a viral video containing allegations that the perpetrator was released by one of the North Cikarang Sector Police (Polsek) circulated in public through social media.

"We make sure it has been processed. The perpetrator with the initials YI committed theft by destroying the contact of a motorcycle using a T key and a key," said Bekasi Metro Police Chief Commissioner Pol. Mustofa in Cikarang, Wednesday, confiscated by Antara.

He explained that this case was revealed thanks to the police report number LP/B/99/IX/2025/SPKT/North Cikarang Police/Bekasi Metro Police/Polda Metro Jaya dated September 9, 2025.

"This theft case occurred at a rented Jalan Layang Kongsi, Cikarang Kota Village, North Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency on Tuesday 9 September 2025 at 04.00 WIB," he said.

The police confiscated a number of evidences, including one ignition key, STNK, a T-shaped key handle, four sharp end key children, a magnetic key, a new blue bag and a 2015 Honda Vario Nopol Z-2358-CH motorcycle with a damaged contact keyhole.

The police chief ensured that every complaint from the public would be followed up properly, including residents who came to the North Cikarang Police Headquarters yesterday.

"Friends can also see that the suspect and the evidence are all currently at the Bekasi Metro Police. There is no intention of not processing the case," he said.

He also apologized for the viral video in question and confirmed that members together with the North Cikarang Police Chief had been brought to the Propam Division of the Polda Metro Jaya, including the handling of the case.

"We have processed the attention of the Regional Police Chief, we have processed our members, now they have been brought to the Bidpropam Polda Metro Jaya. And if there is a violation, of course we will process it in accordance with applicable legal provisions," he said.

Mustofa appealed to the public to always be vigilant and ensure that the vehicle is safe by locking the motorcycle handlebar to the right, removing the lock from the contact, using additional safeguards such as disc padlock locks.

"If you have lost a motorbike, immediately report it to the nearest police station," he said.
