Live Translation Now Can Be Used On AirPods 4 And AirPods Pro 2

JAKARTA - Apple provides good news for AirPods users. The Live Translation feature introduced with Apple Intelligence is not exclusive to the latest devices only. AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 will also get this feature thanks to their H2 chip.

However, there is one important condition: users still need an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence and has been updated to iOS 26. In practice, this means that only the iPhone 15 Pro or later can run the feature.

How it works is simple. Once activated, Live Translation will automatically translate the detected language. Apple demonstrates gestures to activate this feature, namely by pinching both AirPods stems simultaneously.

For the initial stage, only a few languages are available, including:

English (US, UK)

French (France, but not for the entire EU)

Spanish (Spain, but not for the entire EU)

German

Portuguese (Brazil)

This feature will be released in conjunction with the iOS 26 update which is scheduled to be available to the public on September 15. AirPods Pro 3 will come directly with a built-in Live Translation, while AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 will receive software updates at the same time.
