IPhone 17 Revealed: 120Hz Screen And 48MP Camera Will Change How You Take Photos!

Apple officially introduced the iPhone 17 at the "Awe Dropping" event in Cupertino. This basic model comes with a significant increase, including a 120Hz ProMotion display, a faster 48MP camera, and an A19 chip, making it more than just a minor update. The iPhone 17 will be available from September 19, 2025 at a starting price of 799 US dollars (approximately IDR 13.1 million) for the 256GB variant, with pre-orders opening on September 12.

The iPhone 17 now uses the A19 chip, which was previously only available on the Pro model. Made with third-generation 3nm technology, this chip supports Apple Intelligence, advanced photography style, and is capable of providing up to 30 hours of battery life for eight hours of video playback over the iPhone 16. Charging is also upgraded, reaching 50% in 20 minutes using Apple's new 40W Dynamic Daya Adaptor.

Although memory remains 8GB (compared by 12GB on the iPhone 17 Pro), strong single-core performance remains Apple's advantage. Real-world testing will be decisive, but Apple is known to consistently deliver excellent performance every year.

The main iPhone 17 feature is a 6.3-inch OLED display with 120Hz ProMotion technology, which was first introduced on the iPhone 13 Pro in 2021. This technology makes scrolling smoother, animation more responsive, and gaming experience better. The screen also achieves the highest outdoor peak brightness of 3000 nits among other iPhones with thinner bezels and contour edge designs. The new Ceramic Shield 2 layer offers three times better scratch resistance and reduces silau.

Apple introduced the 18MP Center Stage front camera with a square sensor, supporting portrait and landscape selfies without the need to play the device. The camera also uses AI to expand the field of view on group photos and record ultra-stable 4K HDR videos. Dual Capture features allow simultaneous recording with front and rear cameras.

On the back, the main and ultra-wide cameras now use 48MP sensors, with ultra-wides providing details up to four times more than previous models. Support for computing tools such as the latest generation of Photographic Styles and Dolby Vision recording complements this camera system.

The iPhone 17 comes with iOS 26 which introduces the design "Liquid Glass", call filtering, direct translation, and a redesigned Apple Games app. The N1 network chips support Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread, as well as the eSIM-only models available in more countries.

Apple claims the iPhone 17 uses 30% recycled material, including 85% recycled aluminum on the frame and 100% recycled cobalt on the battery. Packaging is fully fiber-based. New accessories include MagSafe casings, $59 crossbody straps from recycled threads, and a $39 Qi2 MagSafe charger. Buyers also get three free months of Apple Arcade, Fitness+, Music, News+, and TV+.

The iPhone 17 comes with a base storage of 256GB (double from the previous model) and 512GB options, available in black, lavender, mist blue, sage, and white. Pre-order starts September 12 at PDT, with general availability on September 19 in more than 63 countries, including the US, UK, Canada, China, and Japan. 22 other regions followed on September 26.

Apple is offering an exchange of 200 to 700 US dollars for iPhone 13 users or later, with operator promotions of up to $1.100 for the iPhone 17 Pro.
