US Open 2025: Carlos Alcaraz Gets Semifinal Tickets
JAKARTA The second seeded tennis player from Spain, Carlos Alcaraz, again displayed another brilliant game to beat Jiri Lehecka and reach the semifinals of the US Open 2025.
Alcaraz took less than two hours to beat the Czech Republic with a score of 6-4, 6-2, and 6-4 at Arthur Ashe Stadium, Flushing Meadows, New York, United States, on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
This is the first semifinals that Alcaraz has managed to climb on the hard field of the Grand Slam event since he won the US Open 2022.

It was the first Grand Slam collection of his career before he added to the collection by winning two French Opens (Roland Garros) and two Wimbledons afterwards.
"I kind of met the Grand Slam version of Carlos Alcaraz. He showed that he was indeed one of the title challengers. Everyone knows that and he proved it," Lehecka said.
Alcaraz, who is only 22 years old, has reached the semifinals of the Grand Slam event for the ninth time.
In the Open Era, only Rafael Nadal and Boris Becker reached more semifinals (10 times each) before the age of 23.
The tennis player who was born in El Palmar, Murcia, Spain, is the only player in the men's singles who has not lost a set at the US Open 2025.
He is the youngest player to reach the US Open semi-finals without losing a set since 21-year-old Jim Courier in 1991.
Alcaraz will shift Jannik Sinner from world number one if he wins the US Open for the second time in his career.
"Every time I enter the field, I always try not to think about it. If I keep thinking about being ranked first in the world, it could be a pressure for me," said Alcaraz.
