3 Students Bring Molotov Bombs Arrested During Student Demonstration In Lampung

BANDARLAMPUNG - Three high school students were arrested by members of Kodim 0410 Bandar Lampung City because they were caught carrying Molotov cocktails during a student demonstration in front of the Lampung Provincial DPRD building, Monday, September 1.

The three students were arrested while in the vicinity of a crowd on Jalan Raden Intan, Tanjung Karang Pusat. From their hands, officers confiscated a Molotov cocktail made from bottles of liquor. They were immediately taken to the Tanjung Karang Pusat Police for further investigation.

In this heated action, the mass of students who are members of the Lampung Against Alliance brought 11 demands, ranging from the ratification of the Asset Confiscation Law, DPR salary cuts, increasing salaries of lecturers and teachers, to total reforming of the National Police and changing police chiefs. The masses also rejected the RKUHP and efficiency policies in the education and health sectors.

The situation that had almost collapsed after the Governor of Lampung Rahmat Mirzani Djausal and the leadership of the DPRD met the masses for dialogue.

"I believe and believe, it is not the nature of the people of Lampung to create trouble, burn, damage and hinder development," said Rahmat Mirzani.

The governor emphasized that he was ready to bring the aspirations of students to the central government.

After the dialogue, the masses dispersed in an orderly manner. The Lampung Police deployed 1,257 personnel to secure this action, plus 432 reserve personnel at the Mapolresta and Polsek ranks.
