Around the world, the duration of sleep of each person is different from each other. Quoted from Jagran Rosh, on Sunday, August 31, 2025, the variation of sleep duration in each country is influenced by many factors.

Starting from culture, working hours and schools, technology and screen time levels, climate and sunlight, to urban and rural life are also some of the influencing factors.

Based on World Population Review 2025 data, the duration of sleep varies from 4447 minutes (about 7 hours 27 minutes a night), to 352 minutes (5 hours 52 minutes a night) the lowest.

Several countries are in the top position for the most average sleep durations, such as New Zealand (447 minutes), the Netherlands (44 minutes), Finland (443 minutes), England (442 minutes), and Australia (440 minutes).

At the lowest position with the lowest sleep duration is Japan with 352 minutes. Meanwhile, Indonesia is in 44th place out of 50 registered countries.

Indonesia has an average sleep duration of 385 minutes or about 6 hours 25 minutes. This figure is still below the recommended duration of sleep.
