BCL Questions Probabilities To Be Prohibited From Performing Its Own Songs In The Future

JAKARTA - Bunga Citra Lestari alias BCL is still wondering about her fate as a singer, when the phenomenon of banning singing in Indonesia emerged.

This was conveyed after attending a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission XIII of the DPR RI to discuss the revision of the Copyright Law at the Parliament Complex, Central Jakarta on Wednesday, August 27 yesterday.

Present as a member of the Indonesian Voice Vibration (VISION), Unge's nickname said that the chaotic copyright of songs/music that recently occurred in the country caused unrest for the singer seemed to be.

"With the difference in interpretation and clarity that is still being debated, to be honest, it causes unrest and unrest, not only for me, but other singer friends," Bunga told the media crew.

"Not to mention the summons or lawsuits that continue to arrive at the singer," he added.

One of the things that worries Bunga is that if the condition is allowed to continue, he may be prohibited from performing hits that he has released so far, given that the song was written by another musician.

"I'm a original singer. For example, ten years later I was forbidden to sing songs that I was popular with, what about? What song do I sing? " he said. This is not allowed, it's not allowed. So far I've been singing and promoting for what?

Even so, that doesn't mean the singers don't care about the people who have written the song for him. On every stage, he tries to get the organizers to fulfill the rights of the songwriters.

"The singer wants the creator to get his rights, that's why in our gig contract we have stated, the creator of the rights song must be paid according to the existing law. So, don't think that we don't care about the fate of the songwriter," he said.

Furthermore, regarding the permit and ban on singing songs, Bunga also has an opinion, where he sees certain conditions that will be complicated if the prohibition is allowed.

What kind of licensing is needed and what is the system, what are the limits for who is allowed or not. If there are three to four songwriters, what is the permit? Which one? If two get permission one or not, what will happen? " he said.

"We want to have a rule that is a solution for everything, not just for one party," concluded Bunga.
