Piyu Ensures ACTIONs Control Revision Of Copyright Laws That Are Speeded Up In Two Months

JAKARTA - In response to copyright disputes and song/music royalties, the Indonesian House of Representatives has decided to revise Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright (UU Copyright) to be completed in two months.

Commission XIII of the DPR RI also invited the All-Indonesian Composite Association (AKSI), the Indonesian Voice Vibration (VISION), the National Collective Management Institute (LMKN), and the Ministry of Law for Hearing Meetings (RDP) at the Parliament Complex, Central Jakarta on Wednesday, August 27.

Piyu as the Chair of ACTION stated that his party was involved in the formulating team for the revision of the Copyright Law. Although the time provided is short, he ensures that ACTION will oversee the revision to fight for the rights of songwriters.

"We see these two months, including speeding, including fast work, but that's okay, because ACTION has been formulating this for a long time. How are the points and what are we trying to convey," said Piyu, met after the RDP in Senayan, South Jakarta, Wednesday.

The Padi Reborn frontman even said that the ACTION had previously conveyed the points that were inputs for the revision of the Copyright Law to the DPR's Badam Study.

However, Piyu admitted that she was surprised, when she received a script and did not see any input from the ACTION included in the revision of the Copyright Law.

"We see that our proposal is not included, that's why I complain," said Piyu. Even though the important point we enter is the license and license.

Piyu continued, the maker of the law stated that the manuscript was still limited to proposals, in which various problems would be seen and discussed further, before it was enacted as a law.

"Okay, okay. Anyway, we will oversee this, because our important proposal has not been included. So, so that tomorrow it is in line with expectations, we will continue to encourage it," said Piyu.

"So, we have to pay close attention to this revision, we really have to guard it, so that our proposal can be poured there. Because this is very important. Because if not, we will return to the old age again," he said.
