Ragunan Will Be Revitalized, DPRD Reminds Ticket Prices Not To Be Expensive
JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission D DPRD DKI Jakarta Yuke Yurike agreed with the plan of DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung to revitalize Ragunan Wildlife Park (TMR), South Jakarta.
Yuke said that his party agreed with the DKI Provincial Government's record of not being allowed to increase the entrance ticket price with a nominal high rate just because it had been revitalized.
"What the design will be like and what kind of revitalization plan we have not received updates from the Forestry Service and TMR. But basically we support it as long as the ticket price is not expensive," Yuke told reporters, Friday, August 22.
Yuke did not deny that the increase in Ragunan's ticket price would be due to an increase in the cost of operating costs.
Even so, Yuke emphasized that the DKI Provincial Government must consider the economic capabilities of people who need zoo tourism educational facilities at affordable prices.
"We still maintain it for people's entertainment because Ragunan is the only entertainment for the general public who is cheap, but can also learn a lot there," said Yuke.
Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the DKI Provincial Government would increase the price of tickets to enter the Ragunan Wildlife Park if it had been revitalized.

It is known, currently the Ragunan zoo entrance ticket for adults is Rp. 4,000 and the children are Rp. 3,000. According to Pramono, Ragunan's entrance ticket fare is currently too cheap.
"Oh for sure (the ticket price will go up). Sometimes our problem is that selling himself is too cheap," said Pramono at Ragunan Wildlife Park, Thursday, August 14.
However, Pramono will apply special tariffs for visitors with DKI Jakarta ID cards. Residents outside Jakarta will be charged a more expensive rate than those with Jakarta ID cards. Foreign nationals are also subject to even more expensive rates.
In addition, the DKI Provincial Government still eliminates Ragunan entrance tickets for Jakarta Smart Cardholders (KJP) even though they have been revitalized.
"For KJP, it is still free, for Jakarta residents we give their own prices. For residents outside Jakarta who travel to Jakarta and also for foreigners, especially, we will give different rates," explained Pramono.
"Because in this world, a city will be seen moving forward or not, the city is interesting or not, actually the zoo, the zoo," he added.
In the revitalization planned to start next year, Pramono wants additional parking access for four-wheeled vehicles. Because, every weekend, Ragunan is always crowded with tourists.
"I ask to immediately prepare a multilevel parking for the car. Earlier, the motorbike already exists. So that way, in the near future we will definitely ban cars from being allowed to enter again," said Pramono.
If the parking access is adequate and the area in Ragunan is sterilized from private vehicles, Pramono assesses that there is a need for additional buses to take tourists around the cages that are kept there.
"Indeed, for an area of 127 hectares, buses that routinely go around to be able to people easily see the animals here. Because this place is for flora and fauna which I think is one of the best in Southeast Asia," he added.
