Jakarta Metro Police Question Rismon Sianipar in Jokowi's Diploma Case

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) will question three witnesses in the alleged defamation and slander case related to the accusation of a fake diploma belonging to the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi). One of them is Rismon Sianipar.

"Yes, Mr. Rismon is scheduled for questioning today," said Ahmad Khozinudin, attorney for the TPUA (Anti-Corruption Court) on Friday, August 22.

Meanwhile, the other two witnesses, Mikhael Sinaga and Nurdian Noviansyah Susilo, have been questioned since this afternoon.

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) are reportedly continuing to question witnesses in the alleged defamation case. Several days earlier, investigators also questioned Roy Suryo and Dr. Tifa.

These witnesses were originally scheduled to testify last week. However, due to busy schedules, they requested a rescheduling.

"Our clients, the relevant schedules I mentioned earlier, are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday leading up to August 17, 2025. Various events are scheduled for the celebration of August 17, 2025, Independence Day," said Khozinudin.

As a reminder, the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) stated that the alleged defamation case related to the fake diploma accusation reported by the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), has been elevated to the investigation stage.

The decision to upgrade the case status was based on the results of a case review conducted by the State Security Sub-Directorate (Kamneg) on ​​Thursday, July 10.

This case began with an official report filed directly by President Jokowi to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police. He reported parties accusing him of using a fake diploma as a form of defamation.

The report refers to several articles in the Criminal Code (KUHP), namely Articles 310 and 311 concerning defamation. Investigators also applied Articles 27A, 32, and 35 of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE).
