Not Just Image, How Muklay Builds Imagination Through Character And Color
JAKARTA - In the midst of the development of Indonesia's creative industry, the name Muklay or Muchlis Fachri has become a separate icon in the local visual art world. The distinctive characteristics of its visual works that are brave, colorful, and full of characters make every collaboration that is touched feel attractive and unique.
Muklay's latest collaboration with Digimap, an Apple Premium Partner retail brand under the auspices of PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk (MAP), is proof of how art can enter the realm of technology in a fun and functional way.
This collaboration carries the theme 'Muklayground', which not only presents exclusive merchandise in the form of MacBook Bag and AirPods Case Plushie, but also introduces a universal character of Muklay's long exploration results in building personal property intellectuals (IP).
"I really like AirPods Max. The shape seems to be one with the head, and I really like content every day, edit, listen to music, so the audio device has become part of my life," said Muklay, when met at Pondok Indah Mall 3, Jakarta on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
He added that from this daily life, the inspiration for his character was born, for example Berry, the beat bear is described as a character who is attracted to music and creates content.

Muklay explained that a total of 50 characters have been developed since the end of 2024, with the main character named Jabrik, are described as striking yellow-haired.
"The first is the Jabrik, Jabrik whose hair is yellow. That's the IP which I will make toys in the future," said Muklay.
Apart from Jabrik, there are other unique characters such as Harold, Hell, Berry, Masami, Duk, and Hanna, each of which brings its own background, expression, and inspiration. All of these characters are visualized in the form of merchandise that is not just funny or artistic, but also has real functions.
"The design that I made is not only to be seen, but I also want to be functional. That's why when I saw the prototype AirPods case, I immediately said, 'Wow, how come it's good, the production is also good,' recalled Muklay.

According to Muklay, his decision to choose Digimap as a collaborative partner was not only due to the popularity of the brand.
From his experience of traveling to Japan, drawing buildings from the iPad, to editing content using MacBook, Muklay realized that tools and medium greatly affect the creative process.
This collaboration also opens wider space for young Indonesian artists. Muklay, as Friends of Digimap, will share knowledge in Open Studio held by Digimap at various points. In this session, Muklay will teach digital coloring techniques, brush use, to shortcut tips to speed up the illustration process.
