Allegations Of Officials Involved In Corruption At The Kabuhan Hajj Pier, East Lombok Kejari: We Are Not Selective

The East Lombok District Attorney (Kejari) denied that he was selective in handling cases of alleged corruption in the rehabilitation of Labuhan Haji pier for the 2022 fiscal year whose project value reached Rp. 3 billion by having named four suspects and finding a difference in the value of the work.

"In handling this case, we do not have a tendentious element, save, we are not like that, we are professional, we are not selective. Please control, we are not hiding anything," said Head of the Intelligence Section of the East Lombok Kejari Ugik Ramantyo when contacted by telephone from Mataram, Wednesday, confiscated by Antara.

Ugik explained that this was in response to issues that were widely spread in the community regarding the involvement of regional officials in East Lombok Regency.

"Investigators continue to work based on legal procedures and statutory regulations. If there is evidence of involvement up, why not? If it has not been fulfilled according to investigators, the term has not met the elements or indeed the series of activities do not lead to it? What is clear is that this handling is in accordance with the existing SOP and regulations," he said.

In handling this case, the prosecutor's office named four suspects based on letter of determination Number: Tap-03/N.2.12/Fd.2/08/2025 and Tap-04/N.2.12/Fd.2/08/2025 dated August 12, 2025.

Investigators, he said, already believe that there is a price difference between work results and planning. This is reinforced by the results of the internal team audit, although there have been no official results from the NTB Inspectorate.

In addition, Ugik explained that investigators in determining the four suspects had found at least two pieces of evidence that corroborated the elements of unlawful acts of the four suspects.

"The investigative team stated that the determination of the suspect was in accordance with the allegations, it had fulfilled the elements that the investigators said had been fulfilled," he said.

The four suspects in the project work under the control of the East Lombok Regency Transportation Service consist of government and private agencies, with the initials AH, MAF, SH, and M.

"The suspects AH as PPK, MAF as the owner of the benefits of the construction contractor company, SH as a physical company borrower, and M as the executor of physical contractor work," he said.

According to investigators, he explained, the suspects in this case were suspected of committing a criminal act of corruption by committing acts against the law that had harmed state finances. One of them is reinforced by the results of expert examinations from civil engineering.

Investigators named four suspects by applying the allegations of Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law no. 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code jo. Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

The follow-up to the determination, investigators on Tuesday, August 19, detained two of the four suspects, namely MAF and SH at the Class II B Selong Detention Center, East Lombok Regency.

"For the other two (AH and M) we have not. We are still investigating. Investigators are still working to provide more information, witnesses and other evidence to make it clearer," said Ugik.
