Anas Urbaningrum's Party Has Its Own Way To Celebrate Indonesian Independence Day

JAKARTA - The Nusantara Awakening Party (PKN) led by Anas Urbaningrum has a different way of celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. The party, which was declared on October 28, 2021, held a mangrove planting activity in Patramanggal Village, Kemiri District, Tangerang Regency, Banten, Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

This activity affirms the commitment of PKN to protect biodiversity through concrete actions by planting Mangroves, and part of ongoing efforts to protect coastal ecosystems.

"So that nature is maintained, and future generations can still enjoy a healthy earth," said PKN Secretary General Sri Mulyono, quoting the message of PKN General Chair Anas Urbaningrum.

The man who likes to be called Pak Sri said that in this independence commemoration PKN took the theme 'Planting Mangroves for sustainable Green Indonesia'.

"The message is clear, all elements should preserve the Indonesian environment. If nature is green and sustainable, the archipelago will survive the Climate change which is a global threat. In addition, the Mangrove forest can also become the economic center of local residents," said Mr. Sri, his nickname.

On the same occasion, Soegiarto Santoso, Chairman of PKN PIMDA Banten said that PKN is committed to preserving mangroves on the coast as part of the government's support in realizing Lestari's Green Environment.

"Among them are in a lot of greening and holding back sea water abrasion. One of them is planting mangroves, in order to reduce abrasion and also increase reforestation on the coast," explained Soegiarto.
