Drops Slightly, Reference Coal Price For The Second Period Of August Is Priced At 100.69 US Dollars Per Ton

JAKARTA - The government set the Reference Coal Price (HBA) for the Second Period of August 2025 amounting to 100.69 US Dollars per ton. This figure decreased from the first period of HBA in August which was recorded at 102.22 US dollars per ton.

The determination of the HBA is regulated in the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 72 of 2025 concerning Guidelines for Determination of Patokan Prices for Sales of Metal and Coal Mineral Commodities.

In the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 72 of 2025, there are four types of HBA based on the value of coal calories, namely HBA for the equality of the value of 6,322 kcal/kg GAR calories, HBA II for the equality of the value of calories 4,100 kcal/kg GAR, and HBA III for the equality of the value of calories of 3,400 kcal/kg GAR.

The HBA, HBA I, HBA II, and HBA III values for the second period of August 2025 that apply are as follows:

HBA (6,322 GAR): 100.69 US dollars

HBA I (5,300 GAR): 67.20 US dollars

HBA II (4,100 GAR): 43.70 US dollars

HBA III (3,400 GAR): 33.48 US dollars
