Google Cloud Survey: 87 Percent Of Game Developers Use AI

JAKARTA The latest Google Cloud survey shows that the majority of video game developers are using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to simplify or automate their work.

Survey data notes that there are 87 percent of video game developers using AI agents. The use of AI is used as a solution by the game industry to reduce the cost spike needed in developing video games.

This data was obtained after Google and The Harris Poll conducted a survey of 615 game developers in a number of countries from late June to early July. Several countries that are survey areas are the US, South Korea, Norway, Finland, and Sweden.

Although the majority use AI, the focus of utilization is different. About 44 percent of developers use AI agents to optimize content and process information quickly.

The information processed includes text, voice, code, audio, and video. Most video game developers also use AI to automate complex and repeated tasks, while human workers will focus on the creative part.

Please note that the use of AI in industry is still a controversial topic, especially in the development of video games. Many people are worried that this technology reduces employment opportunities and makes workers' salaries lower.

Although the concerns are quite high, 94 percent of video game developers hope that AI can reduce development costs in the long term. However, 63 percent of them are still worried about data ownership because AI's legality is still unclear.
