Megawati Is Unhealthy, Can't Be Sure To Attend RI's 80th Anniversary At The Palace

Chairman of the PDIP DPP Puan Maharani could not confirm the presence of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri during the commemoration of the 80th Indonesian Independence Day at the Palace. The reason, said Puan, Megawati's condition was not healthy because she was tired.

The celebration of the 80th Indonesian Independence Day will be held at the State Palace, Jakarta on Sunday, August 17, the day after tomorrow.

"I haven't asked, I haven't met him because today the event was very busy, because yesterday he had a meeting and others seemed a bit unwell," said Puan at the DPR building, Friday, August 15.

Megawati was also absent at the MPR Annual Session which was held at the Parliament Complex this morning. In fact, the former president such as the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo were present to fulfill the invitation of the MPR.

Puan admitted that she had not communicated with Megawati regarding the celebration of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day at the Palace.

"So maybe I don't know yet, today I haven't had time to communicate with Mrs. Mega," he said.

Puan revealed that Megawati's current condition was a bit exhausted after yesterday inaugurating a number of PDIP DPP administrators as well as chairing the inaugural meeting at the PDIP DPP Office on Jalan Diponegoro 58, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

"Yes, a little tired," said the chairman of the DPR.

Puan also said that the PDIP DPP also had its own agenda to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, as the previous year. Therefore, it is possible that Megawati will not be present at the Palace because she must lead the ceremony at the PDIP DPP Party School in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta.

"Usually we DPP parties hold ceremonies in Lenteng Agung and in party schools so that every year there will be internal ceremonies," he concluded.
