Aim For The Top 3 In The 2029 Election, This Is The NasDem Party's Strategy

The NasDem Party is targeting to enter the top three in the 2029 General Election (Pemilu) based on the results of discussions at the NasDem Party I National Working Meeting (Rakernas) held in Makassar City, South Sulawesi.

The chairman of the NasDem Party DPP Rifqinizamy Karsayuda stated that his party had taken various consolidated steps to realize this ambition, both through organizational structure and strength in the legislature and executive.

"We are consolidating the organization from the DPP, DPW, DPD structures to the lowest level. We are also strengthening the party pillar, namely the power in the legislature and executive, to increase the power of electoral jacks," said Rifqinizamy, quoted from Antara, Saturday, August 9.

According to him, the electoral victory targeted is not only a number, but must also be based on the party's ideological spirit, namely the restoration ideology and victory in favor of the people.

He said that all the analysis and strategy formulated after meeting with the expert council and the deliberative board in the National Working Meeting would be the party's "restoration" roadmap towards 2029.

"To analyze national issues in the short, medium and long term as part of the roadmap for restoration that will be carried out by NasDem at the national and local levels," said the chairman of Commission II of the DPR RI.

Meanwhile, Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi who was also present at the NasDem National Working Meeting, said there were a number of electoral challenges that the NasDem Party needed to anticipate if it wanted to achieve the top three targets in 2029.

According to him, NasDem is one of the few parties that has experienced a consistent increase in votes in the last three elections, but there are still a number of vulnerabilities to watch out for.

The NasDem Party has experienced a trend of increasing votes since it first participated in the elections in 2014. But it also relies heavily on an open proportional system, as it allows parties to carry popular candidates," said Burhanuddin.

In addition, he assessed that the strength of the NasDem vote distribution which is still concentrated in urban areas, outside Java, and the middle class. This, he said, was still not ideal to pursue the national winning scale target.

"NasDem needs to expand its support base in Java, target lower middle class voters, and reach the younger generation. Currently, 56 percent of voters come from the youth segment, and will get bigger in 2029," he said.
