Update COVID-19 as of May 9: More 3,993 Positive Confirmation Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has released data on developments in handling COVID-19. Based on the results of an examination of 48,901 specimens, 3,993 confirmed positive cases were found.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1,713,684 people," quoted from data from the Ministry of Health, Sunday, May 9.

Meanwhile, for cured cases increased by 4,360 people. Thus, the total accumulative cases recovered reached 1,568,277 people.

On the other hand, 170 people died from COVID-19. With this addition, the accumulative total of cases died to 47,012 people.

Still referring to data from the Ministry of Health, provinces with the highest number of additional positive cases are still in DKI Jakarta. It is recorded that 809 people have contracted COVID-19. With this addition, a total of 415,647 Jakarta residents have been exposed to COVID-19.

Then, followed by East Java with 230 cases, Riau with 454 cases, and West Sumatra with 322 positive cases.

Meanwhile, the province with the most recovered cases remains in DKI Jakarta with 690 cases. In the second place, West Java with 577 cases.

Furthermore, Central Java with 439 cases, Riau with 223 cases, and Yogyakarta with 202 cases.

So far, 9 provinces have reported additional cases under 10, among others, North Maluku, West Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and West Sulawesi. Then, recorded 2 provinces without positive cases, namely, North Sulawesi and Gorontalo.

The number of specimens examined has now reached 15,201,727. In detail, as many as 13,586,078 specimens were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), 174,707 specimens using a molecular rapid test (TCM), and 1,440,942 specimens by antigen examination.

"The number of positive results per day with the number of specimens examined (positivity rate) is 19.25 percent," he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 86,846 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
