Not Only Operators, Commission III Of The DPR Asks For Online Gambling Bandar To Be Arrested
JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the DPR RI, Abdullah responded to the news of the arrest of five operators or perpetrators suspected of outsmarting the online gambling system by the Yogyakarta Special Region Police (DIY). Not only operators, he also asked the police to arrest the online bookies who were the masterminds of community losses.
Abdullah considered it odd if the police only took action against the operator, while the dealer or manager of the judol platform was not touched by the law. According to him, the arrest of the 5 perpetrators should have been used by the authorities to reveal the whereabouts of the judol dealer.
"This is strange. The police arrested five people who were said to be detrimental to online gambling sites, but the dealers were not arrested. In fact, these online bookies have been detrimental to the public and have publicly violated the law," Abdullah told reporters, Thursday, August 7.
Abdullah also urged the Indonesian Police, especially the Yogyakarta Regional Police to act professionally and transparently in handling online gambling cases. He reminded that no party should be covered up or protected in the law enforcement process.
"The police must be professional. Don't just be firm with small actors or technical actors, but ignore the main actors behind the rise of online gambling. This is a matter of justice and law enforcement integrity," he said.

"We in Commission III will continue to oversee this process. Do not let people lose confidence in law enforcement officials just because there are indications of selective logging in handling cases like this," he concluded.
