345 TPS In Biak Numfor Holds Re-voting For Regional Head Elections, KPU: Smooth And Conducive

Commissioner of the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU) Idham Holik said that the enthusiasm of the residents of Biak Numfor Regency gave their voting rights smoothly in the re-voting (PSU) of the Papua Regional Head Election, which took place, Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

"The results of field monitoring at various polling stations in Biak Numfor Regency, we saw directly that residents came to the TPS to give their voting rights," said KPU RI Commissioner Idham Holik inspecting the PSU at TPS 3 Brambaken Village, Wednesday, which was confiscated by Antara.

Idham assessed that the visit of the Indonesian KPU together with the Indonesian Bawaslu and the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs to ensure that the Biak Numfor community also supported the implementation of the August 6 PSU.

He hopes that the implementation of the PSU in 345 polling stations can take place safely, smoothly and democracy.

Until 10.10 WIT, he continued, Biak Numfor residents were still visiting the TPS to channel their voting rights democratically.

Data on the number of voters remains for the November 27, 2024 Pilkada in Biak Numfor Regency as many as 100,874 voters consisting of 49,705 voters and 51,169 voters spread across 345 polling stations.

The Papuan Pilkada PSU will take place on August 6, 2025, with candidate pair No. 1 Benhur Tomi Mano and deputy governor Costan Karma.
