Mas Pramono Asked To Postpone Relocation, Barito Market Traders Are Not Ready To Move

JAKARTA - Member of the DKI Jakarta DPRD from the PSI faction, August Hamonangan, asked the DKI Provincial Government to postpone the relocation of the Barito Animal Market trader, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta for the construction of the ASEAN Park.

"Mas Pram should not be in a hurry in dismantling and moving traders from Barito Market," August told reporters, Thursday, July 31.

The traders, called August, have proposed delaying their transfer until Eid al-Fitr in 2026.

In addition, there are also elderly traders who do not have the power to move in the near future. So, according to him, traders need time and assistance in the relocation process.

"This is important to give traders time to prepare themselves before moving to other places because now in fact the traders are not ready," he said.

The South Jakarta City Government had previously asked Pasar Barito traders to vacate their stalls no later than August 3, 2025, before the stalls were dismantled.

This is because the DKI Provincial Government plans to start structuring three parks, namely Langsat Park, Ayodya Park, and Leuser Park to be merged into ASEAN Park.

However, August assessed that the Mampang Market which was used as a temporary stall was not suitable for trading. Moreover, the land in Lenteng Agung which will become a new animal market is also not ready.

"So, actually there is still no place that can really replace Barito Market. Therefore, once again we say Mas Pram should not rush," he explained.
