Arteta Hopes Gyokeres Can Make Arsenal Transform
JAKARTA - Mikel Arteta said he hoped Viktor Gyokeres could have a transformative impact on Arsenal after his 63 million euro move from Sporting CP.
The 27-year-old striker was introduced at Singapore National Stadium shortly before Arsenal beat Newcastle 3-2 on a pre-season tour.
The Swedish National Team player is Arsenal's sixth signing in the summer, but is undoubtedly the most anticipated.
You see, supporters have long urged Arteta to recruit an attacker to end his 21-year wait for the Premier League title.
"I hope so (making a transformation). We also have several players like him in this transfer market and that's what we want to create."

"You know the internal enthusiasm, competition, and internal and external resources. We want the supporters as enthusiastic as possible, really believe in what the team can give, creating a special atmosphere at the Emirates."
"All of that will be very important for our success," Arteta said when asked if Gyokeres could take Arsenal to the next level.
Although Gyokeres immediately joined Arsenal in Asia, Arteta said his first appearance for the club might take longer.
"Well, I don't think he's been training with the team since the last game with Sporting when they won (The Portuguese League)."
"So, we will check it (on Monday, July 28, 2025). He's been through all the medical examinations, everything looks good."
"However, to get him back in shape with the right level of fitness, I think it's very important."
"So we're not going to stop him. We want him to join us as soon as possible, but we have to evaluate him and the medical team will do it," Arteta said.
Apart from that, ESPN said Arsenal were also considering signing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.
Arteta also did not deny that there is a possibility of adding more players to the stock exchange this summer.
"We'll see later, the transfer market is still running. We have to balance it with the squad too."
"I think we will be open to seeing what happens," said the Spaniard.
