A Homeless Italian Citizen Because Of Bankrupt Business In Bali Will Be Deported Immediately

BADUNG - A foreign national (WNA) from Italy named Albani Roberto (75) was immediately deported to his home country. The deportation was decided by the Class I Immigration Office of TPI Ngurah Rai, Bali.

This foreigner was stranded in Legian, Kuta, Bali. Now officers are waiting for flight tickets and passports.

"We are going to deport him, but before we deport him, we have to wait for the ticket and passport concerned", said Head of Information and Communication Section of the Special Class I Immigration Office of TPI Ngurah Rai, Putu Suhendra Tresnadita when contacted on Friday, May 7.

An Italian foreigner who claims to be an artist and has businesses in Bali went bankrupt due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. From the results of the examination that the foreigner was stranded in Kuta because he had run out of money and could not return to his country.

The health condition of this Italian foreigner is good. However, he had refused to sign the investigation report (BAP).

"Had refused to sign at the BAP. No problem, refusing is allowed, but later we will make a report on his refusal", he added.

Apart from that, Albani also visited the consulate on Thursday, May 6. Consulate representatives fully support the steps decided by Immigration.

"His name is a consulate, if it is related to immigration, he will help and support immigration", said Suhendra.

Italian foreigner, Albani Roberto (75) was found abandoned and begging in the area of Jalan Benesari, Legian, Kuta, Badung Regency, Bali.

The head of the Badung Civil service police (Satpol PP), I Gusti Agung Ketut Suryanegara, said that the foreigner was found sleeping in a storefront in the area. The residents then reported to the officer.

"It was found in Legian on Jalan Benesari", said Suryanegara, when contacted Wednesday, May 5.

According to him, this Italian foreigner originally lived in Canggu, North Kuta. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, this Italian foreigner could not return to his home country due to the implementation of a lockdown.

Italian foreigner Albani claims to be an artist and has had a business. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic made his business bankrupt until finally, Albani was stranded.

"Previously he said he had a business here and lived in Canggu. Since the lockdown in Italy, his business stopped and went bankrupt. He said he was an artist", explained Suryanegara.
