Presiden Prabowo Minta BPS Tingkatkan Accurasi Data Termasuk Dari KEK

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto conveyed special directions to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to continue to improve the quality and accuracy of national data, including data from Special Economic Zones (KEK).

The directive was delivered in a limited meeting (ratas) with the Head of BPS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 22.

"The president asked BPS to increase the accuracy of the data," said Amalia after attending the meeting, reported by ANTARA.

In particular, he said the President emphasized the importance of collecting data from the Special Economic Zone (KEK), considering that the topic was the main discussion in limited meetings.

BPS is asked to immediately collect data from all SEZs. The President also instructed all SEZ managers to actively collaborate with BPS in the process of collecting data in the field," he said.

Previously, President Prabowo led the meeting to discuss the development of the SEZ with a number of ministers of the Red and White Cabinet at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

The meeting was held in a hybrid manner, with President Prabowo Subianto, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, a number of ministers, and SEZ representatives who attended directly at the Merdeka Palace connected with a number of other SEZ representatives from various regions in the country via video conference.

During the meeting, the Government highlighted the significant achievement of SEZ throughout 2024 which succeeded in exceeding investment targets and employment.

Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslanim said that the total investment that entered the SEZ during the period January to December 2024 reached Rp90.1 trillion, far beyond the set target of Rp78.1 trillion.

Not only in terms of investment, the absorption of labor in SEZs also shows encouraging results. Throughout 2024, 47,747 workers were successfully absorbed, exceeding the initial target set by 38,953 people.

Rosan also explained that the number of business actors active in the SEZ area during 2024 increased by 72 business actors. Cumulatively, from 2012 to 2024, SEZs have collected investments of IDR 263.4 trillion with the number of business actors reaching 403, and creating jobs for 160,874 workers.
