The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Has Written To The AGO Before Checking Kajari And Kasidatun Mandailing Natal
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) stated that coordination had been carried out with the Attorney General's Office (AGO) to examine the Head of the District Attorney Muhammad Iqbal and Gomgoman Halomoan Simbolon as the Head of the Civil and State Administration Section (Datun) on Friday, July 18. They have even sent a letter.
The KPK investigators should have examined both of them as witnesses to the alleged bribery of road construction projects at the PUPR Service and the North Sumatra PJN Satker Region 1. Requests for information were carried out at the Medan City BPKP office.
"The KPK has sent a letter, so, yesterday before the schedule was carried out on Friday, investigators had sent a letter to the Attorney General's Office regarding the examination of the person concerned," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday night, July 22.
Budi also mentioned that there was communication between the investigator and the Attorney General's Office.
"And everything went well," he said.
Even so, Budi did not specify the exact time the letter was sent. However, the KPK hopes that in the future this coordination will run better.
"And we also believe that the Prosecutor's Office will support the process of investigating this case," he said.
Meanwhile, the AGO has no problem with the KPK's move to examine Muhammad Iqbal and Gomgoman Halomoan Simbolon as witnesses. Head of the AGO, Anang Supriatna, said that his party would not protect anyone internally as long as the process was in accordance with the mechanism.
"Because we are calling the prosecutor what it is like. But in principle we have no problem," said Anang at his office, Tuesday, July 22.
As previously reported, the KPK held a hand arrest operation (OTT) in the North Sumatra region on Thursday, June 26. It is suspected that money was given in the road construction project in the province.
